Stephen Hawking was once quoted as saying “Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.”
If this sounds appealing, you’ll love public stargazing night at the Tamke-Allan Observatory. Amateur astronomers and curious observers are invited to come see the stars on the 1st & 3rd Saturday every month, all year long!
The Observatory often brings in guest lecturers to discuss the celestial events of the season, space-related subjects and all things atmospheric.
The Tamke-Allan Observatory is located on Caney Creek Road – turn left onto Keller Road (near the TWRA boat luanch area) and the road to the observatory is on the left. Gate opens at 7 pm.
Bring the family and make it an educational night out for everyone! Visit http://www.roanestate.edu/obs/ for more information.
