Thief Neck Island Paddle Quest

Paddle Dynamics is offering 3, 9 and 18-mile race distances.

Thief Neck Island is located on Watts Bar Lake and is part of the Tennessee River upstream of the legendary Chattajack race course.  Use this race to hone your skills and enjoy the thrill of open water while navigating an exciting course.  First-timer racer or novice paddler?  Discover the thrill of racing in the sheltered cannel for the exciting 3-Mile Deckhand Dash Race out to the mouth of Watts Bar Lake and back.

Set your compass and head out on your quest to be one of the top finishers in your category.  Your efforts will be rewarded with a bronze, silver or gold doubloon.

Races are as follows:

• 3 Mile Deckhand Dash Race - $40 Registration Fee
• 9 mile Scallywag Scuttle Race - $70 Registration fee
• 18 mile Buccaneer Brawl Race - $80 Registration fee (Recommended 4.5 mph minimum average speed)

Must register by August 31, 2024 to receive a tech shirt.   All racers will receive race schwag (a raffle ticket and a bag full of booty.  Some shirts might be available at the event for a $20 purchase but are not guaranteed after August 31).  Go to PaddleGuru.com for online registration.

Food Vendor on site - Hosted by the Atomic Rowing Boosters where all proceeds support local junior rowers.

Silent Auction - bid on a large variety of items and all the proceeds benefit the homeless animals of the Roane County Animal Shelter.

 Demos of Epic Kayaks, Oxone  Outrigger Canoes and Kayaks and Stellar Kayaks (supplied by Paddle Dynamics) will be Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Old Tom Fuller Boat Landing from 4-7 pm
